Dear AMARC Europe members, colleagues and friends,
Please accept the warmest greetings from the AMARC Europe team and we wish you a Happy New Year and hope you had a good start for 2020.
2019 has been a busy year, but also 2020 will have a lot of opportunities for us to continue our work for, with and by community radios in Europe and beyond.
We are entering the final phase of the
Grassroots Wavelengths project and are currently planning learning and dissemination events for AMARC members to discuss the results and lessons learned from the creation of the community radios in Ireland, Romania and Portugal during the project. We continue our work with the
SMART Erasmus+ project on media literacy in the Third Media Sector. Together with our partners from Ireland, Hungary, Basque country, Germany and Austria we will organize the next SMART pilot training for community media trainers in March in Vienna and an exchange forum on media literacy for the community media sector, partners and interested persons. As partners of the
Soundroutes projects we are looking forward in 2020 to provide an opportunity for international musicians, who emigrated to Europe to perform within local communities and in collaboration with local artists and link the gained experience to the community media sectors.
Besides the current and new projects our team is engaged in, an important event for AMARC Europe is ahead of us: the AMARC Europe General Assembly 2020. The initial planning has started, and we are happy to have found with CRAOL (Ireland) a great partner for our up-coming General Assembly which will take place in autumn 2020 in Ireland. More info will follow soon.
Ahead of the GA 2020, we will continue to increase the efforts to showcase and highlight the work and impact AMARC Europe members and the whole community media sector in Europe has. Therefore, we have launched our new website with many new features for members including a member map, internal discussion fora and new exchange functionalities. In the near future you will hear more about this.
We are looking forward to a busy year with many chances to work together, exchange and eventually meet during the General Assembly in autumn 2020. The AMARC Europe team wishes you a great start for 2020.
