Logo_citizen_award_webAMARC EU TEAM / ICMA – The 4th Edition of the International Citizen Media Award has arrived. This award rewards the dedication of citizens of all countries in their audiovisual products and their reporting concerning locally, regionally, globally and socially relevant topics. In this case, the topic chosen is Work-Life-Balance: Reconciling work and family life.

The current developments in the economic, technological, and social area lead to increasing importance of the work-life balance, equally relevant for companies, employees and the general society. The working conditions have changed both in the private as well as in the public sector by an ever changing economic situation and emerging global markets. Nowadays fixed-term contracts and limited financial resources increase the need for stability and security on the side of the workforce and the demands of flexibility of their employees on the side of the companies.

The entries can show positive and negative examples of work-life balance experiences and how to manage reconciling work and family life. The different perspectives (companies, employees, the general society) can be taken into consideration. The producers of these products (no longer that 20 minutes) can be individuals, groups, associations, civil initiatives, school classes and especially producers, actors and editorial teams in the field of citizen media work, and the deadline for entries is 31st of August 2014.

The sponsors of this award are Bundesverband Bürger – und Ausbildungsmedien, Bürgerhaus Bennohaus and European Youth4Media Network. All the information and guidelines can be found in www.icm-award.com
