World Radio Day was celebrated at Near FM with a special programme bringing together international voices from within the Irish community. (The programme is available ici). The idea of the show was to celebrate radio around the world, to play different kinds of music and to talk about broadcasting in each country with a particular focus on community stations. Guests represented Nepal, Chine, Brésil, Argentine, Venezuela and Spain and they each played a song before speaking about the state of radio today in their homeland. Towards the end of the programme we opened up the discussion to look at the future of radio, which everyone agreed was changing, but safe.
