Notes and call for features!
Arson in accommodations for asylum seekers, right-wing parties and movements, the build-up of surveillance societies and the general closing-off to outsiders of any kind are only a few symptoms demonstrating how important it is to hold a stance against rising nationalism in Europe. Right-wing views are being more and more socially acceptable and politicians holding these views are increasingly being elected all around the world. Lots of people today live with a blurry feeling of anxiety when looking at the political landscape, leaving them with little courage and imagination to shape their own worlds.
We think it is time to set a counterpoint, expressing our wish for free, democratic and cosmopolitan societies and citizenries everywhere. We want to strengthen open communication, media literacy and open formation of political opinions.
That is why we are calling for a MONTH FOR ACTION at Wüste Welle. We will broadcast a lot of topical shows throughout the entire month of May as well as organise events in our broadcast area. We are now in the process of organising these events and there are a lot of ideas: Concerts, lectures, panel discussions, an evening of topical political comedy, live broadcasting from events all over the region and many more.
Everything communicating our values and topics will work.
What kind of world do YOU wanna live in?
People active in media all across Europe are welcome to join us for any events.
Especially welcome as well are suitable features from community media everywhere! Please send us your features in any language and maybe include a short description in English, what they are about so we can broadcast them on our air and transport your opinion!

Aufruf und Bitte um Beiträge!
Seien es Brandstiftung in Asylunterkünften, Pegida oder die AfD, die
Aufrüstung des Überwachungsstaates oder die allgemeine Abschottung gegen
alles vermeintlich Fremde: Zahlreiche Ereignisse der vergangenen Zeit
haben uns gezeigt, wie wichtig eine Positionierung gegen rechte
Haltungen ist. Rechte Positionen offen zu vertreten wird immer
salonfähiger. Ob Viktor Orbán oder Donald Trump: Politiker*innen mit
„einfachen Antworten“ und destruktiven Absichten wird durch Wahlen
Entscheidungsmacht anvertraut. Diffuse Ängste rauben vielen Menschen den
Mut und die Phantasie für ein soziales und humanes Miteinander.
Dem wollen wir etwas entgegensetzen: Uns selbst und unseren Wunsch nach
einer freien, demokratischen und weltoffenen Gesellschaft. Als Freies
Radio Wüste Welle e.V. wollen wir die freie Kommunikation stärken,
Medienkompetenz und politische Meinungsbildungsprozesse fördern.
Deshalb gestalten wir den Mai als Aktionsmonat unter dem Motto “In was
für einer Welt wollen wir leben? Freie Kommunikation. Gegen Rechts”.
Neben themenbezogenen Sendungen im Äther wird es auch zahlreiche
Aktionen und Veranstaltungen in der Stadt geben. Zur Zeit sind wir
dabei, die Events zu organisieren und haben viele Ideen: Konzerte,
Motto-DJing, Partys, Sit Ins, Vorträge, Podiumsdiskussionen,
Kundgebungen und interkulturelle Veranstaltungen, eigene Sendungen auf
der Wüsten Welle, Workshops, Hörspiel, Theater und vieles mehr. Alles,
was unsere Werte transportiert, kann hier funktionieren.

Radioaktive Menschen aus ganz Europa sind natürlich zu allen
Veranstaltungen herzlich eingeladen!
Ganz besonders willkommen sind uns auch Radiobeiträge, die zum Thema
passen! Bitte schickt uns eure Beiträge – vielleicht mit einer kurzen
Beschreibung auf englisch, worum es in dem Beitrag geht und wir spielen
sie im Mai auf unserem Äther!
